Gordon
Barker

Gordon
Barker’s portrayal of the British landscape using colour
and humour, not only encourages us to smile and look on the bright
side of life, each picture is unique and tells its own story.
Self-taught,
Gordon’s greatest inspiration was his art teacher, who gave
him all the encouragement needed at an early age to experiment
with paint and find his own style. Although concentrating on naïve
landscape paintings, from time to time he likes to experiment
with abstract art, creating wonderfully vibrant paintings that
capture colours and light in a highly imaginative way.
Gordon’s
art appeals to young and old, women and men. Children love the
colours, playfulness and story behind each picture. Whilst for
the rest of the family it is often the nostalgic elements that
appeal as well as the storyline. Either way, people clearly love
Gordon’s work and he is destined to become one of the greatest
and most popular artists of the 21st century.
Collectors
have for some time been buying his original paintings with many
bought by companies either as an investment or, as Gordon would
hope, to lighten their days work. Now, for the first time, Gordon
is making his work more widely available through the strictly
regulated publication of limited edition prints – each individual
one is inspected before being signed by the artist.
“Barely
a day goes by without another idea for a new painting coming into
my head. My aim is to paint pictures that everyone will enjoy
and gain endless pleasure from looking at. I like to tell stories
through my painting. I’m thrilled to know that my work will
now reach a wider audience and bring more happiness into many
peoples lives” says Gordon.
