A Sea King of 203 Squadron takes to the air at RAF Valley whilst a 22 Squadron aircraft remains on standby.
The Westland Sea King HAR 3 first entered service in the search and rescue role with the Royal Air Force in 1976.
Replacing Westland Wessex Helicopters, 22 Squadron C Flight at RAF Valley replacing their Wessex aircraft with Sea King HAR 3 in June 1997.
This large yellow helicopter soon became a familiar sight and sound around the mountains and coastline of Great Britain.

A detachment of two SAR Sea Kings operated in the Falkland Islands.
The Headquarters of Royal Air Force Search and Rescue at RAF Valley was home to 203 Reserve Squadron Operational Conversion Unit.
Alongside C Flight 22 Squadron.
74 years of RAF Search and Rescue services came to an end at 1 pm on the 4th October  2015.
Handing over to Bristows Sikorski S-92 Helicopters.
The Official Disbandment ceremony took place  at RAF Valley on Thursday 18th February 2016.
